A Quiz: On the radio this morning, they asked, "what is the only word in the English language that has a silent D?" They did not give the answer. Any ideas?
OK, I couldn't take it, I cheated on Google -- and frankly, I never would've thought of it, b/c it's a compound word, similar to "handmaiden" or "handyman." Ahem. ;-)
And when I cheated and looked it up on Google I found 3 words! (None of which I would ahve thought of...well, one I might have thought of next time I typed it but...)
Things I love: coffee Oreo ice cream, Dr. Feelgood, laughing so hard you can't catch your breath, Indian and
Afghani food, my friends' kids, exploring a new city, screaming at the TV while watching the Sox or the
Pats (even if I'm home alone), having something to look forward to, a good night's sleep, cheezy crime
dramas like CSI and Crossing Jordan, a black t-shirt with jeans.

Does "bundt" cake count, or is that German? Asks the English major...for shame!
